The Christmas sandwich house is a rich and beautiful idea to create for the holidays. After making the sweet panettone house, I thought of making a savory version. With a scenic appearance, with this sandwich house you will offer an appetizer (or aperitif) that will amaze your guests.
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 4 People
- Cooking methods: No cooking
Ingredients
- 8 slices sandwich bread
- 3.5 oz tuna in water
- 2 tbsp pickled vegetables
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1.75 oz mortadella (in slices)
- 10.5 oz fresh spreadable cheese
- 3.5 oz salami (in slices)
- as needed pretzels
- 1 sprig rosemary
- 2 small mozzarella balls
- 1 rice snack
- 1 black olive
- as needed puffed rice
- as needed red currants
- as needed grated pecorino cheese
Tools
- Toothpicks
- Cutting Board
- Toaster
Steps
To make the Christmas sandwich house, cut the slices of sandwich bread to obtain rectangles about 6 inches long and squares about 4 inches.
Toast all slices of bread and cut the square slices diagonally.
On a plate, pour the drained tuna and pickled vegetables. Then add half of the mayonnaise and mix the ingredients with a spoon.
Fill the rectangular slices of bread with the tuna filling and close with another slice of bread.
Fill the triangular slices of bread with mayonnaise and mortadella, close with another slice of bread.
On a cutting board, place the rectangular sandwiches on top of each other, with the long side facing you. Then cover everything with spreadable cheese.
Place the triangular sandwiches on top to create the roof, and also cover them with spreadable cheese.
Cover the roof with rows of salami slices, decorate the roof peak and the sides of the house with long pretzels.
Unleash your creativity! With the red currants, you can make Christmas lights, with the rice snack a window on the roof, with the halved olive the windows, and with other pretzels you can make the door.
With two small mozzarella balls stacked on a toothpick and some rosemary, you can make a snowman. With puffed rice, you can make some pebbles.
Sprinkle the roof with grated pecorino cheese to give the snow effect. Enjoy!
