Cinnamon Puff Pastry Bunnies

Cinnamon puff pastry bunnies are easy-to-make spiced sweets perfect for Easter. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create irresistibly tasty puff pastry bunnies that are fun to make, even with the help of little ones. Once baked, these bunnies will fill your kitchen with a captivating aroma.

Cinnamon Puff Pastry Bunnies
  • Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet rectangular puff pastry (gluten-free for those intolerant)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 10 colored sprinkles
  • to taste chocolate

Preparation

  • To make the cinnamon puff pastry bunnies, pour the honey and vanilla extract into a small bowl, stir with a spoon to combine the ingredients.

  • In another bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.

  • Take the sheet of puff pastry and open it with the longer side facing you, then cut it in half (photo 1).

  • Brush honey on one half of the puff pastry, leaving a quarter of an inch on the sides (right and left) (photo 2).

  • Pour the sugar and cinnamon (photo 3), close by laying the other half of the puff pastry on top and seal the sides (right and left) with a fork (photo 4).

  • Use a cutter to cut 10 horizontal strips (photo 5). Take each strip and twist it twice to create a shape with an open circle at the bottom and the two ends pointed upwards (photo 6).

  • Place the bunnies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven (I use a fan oven) at 392°F for 15 minutes. Once baked, let them cool.

  • With a teaspoon or toothpick, put a bit of chocolate on each colored sprinkle, then place it at the bottom of each bunny to create the tail. Enjoy!
