The cocoa and nut granola is a delicious and crunchy idea for breakfast or a mid-day snack. I made the cocoa granola with puffed spelt and enriched it with hazelnuts, almonds, and chocolate pieces. You can enjoy cocoa granola in milk or yogurt.

- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 1 jar 200 ml
- Cooking methods: Oven
Ingredients
- 7 oz puffed spelt
- 1 oz almonds
- 1 oz hazelnuts
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 3 tablespoons water
- Half tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1.4 oz dark chocolate pieces
Tools
- Jar
Steps
To make the cocoa granola, pour the puffed spelt into a large bowl, add the almonds (you can use almonds with or without skin) and roughly chopped hazelnuts.
In a saucepan, pour the water, add the oil, and honey. Put on low heat and let the honey melt, the mixture should not boil.
Pour the honey-water mixture over the cereals in the bowl. Also, add cocoa and mix with a spoon to combine the ingredients until you get a moist and homogeneous mixture.
Spread everything on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Level well with a spoon and place in a fan oven at 300°F for 30 minutes. Stir every 10 minutes with a spoon to get an evenly crunchy granola and not soft underneath.
When the granola is ready, remove it from the oven, add the chocolate, and let it cool.
Stir with a spoon and pour the granola into an airtight glass jar and consume as needed. Enjoy!
