Crostini with Ricotta and Caramelized Figs
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 crostini
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread
  • 3 figs
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 7 oz ricotta
  • 3 walnut halves
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt

Tools

  • Non-stick griddle
  • Tongs

Steps

  • To make the crostini with ricotta and caramelized figs, drizzle the slices of bread with a bit of extra virgin olive oil, then toast them on a preheated non-stick griddle. Grill them for a few minutes on each side and set aside.

  • Rinse the figs, cut them in half, and then into two slices each. In a skillet, heat a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, then add the figs and sprinkle them with the sugar.

  • Cook the figs over moderate heat for a few seconds on each side, taking care to turn them with kitchen tongs.

  • In a bowl, combine the ricotta, a pinch of salt, and mix with a spoon.

  • Take a slice of bread, spread the ricotta on top, place three fig slices, and roughly chopped walnuts on it.

  • Repeat the process for the other slices of bread. Serve and enjoy!
