Halloween Spider Cookies

The Halloween spider cookies are fun and tasty cookies perfect for making for the end-of-October celebration.

Making these cookies is easy and enjoyable, even with the little ones. I made cookies similar to American cookies but without chocolate chips; then I decorated them with a chocolate candy (representing the spider’s head) and used melted dark chocolate to create the legs on the sides of the cookies. To make the eyes, you can use sugar eyes or, as in my case, use melted white chocolate.

With these cookies, you will make both adults and children happy!

Halloween Spider Cookies
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 20 Pieces
  • Cooking methods: Oven

Ingredients

  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sunflower seed oil
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 20 chocolate candies
  • 3/4 oz dark chocolate
  • 1/3 oz white chocolate (or sugar eyes)

Preparation

  • To make the Halloween spider cookies, in a bowl, beat the sugar with the sunflower seed oil and vanilla extract.

  • Then continue to mix, adding the egg until a creamy mixture is obtained.

  • Gradually add the sifted flour and baking powder. Mix the ingredients until a smooth and compact dough is obtained.

  • Take a bit of dough and form balls. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and flatten them slightly with your hands.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F. After 10 minutes, remove from the oven and lightly press the cookies; return them to the oven for another 10 minutes or until golden. Then remove and let them cool.

  • In the cavities, pour melted dark chocolate and place a chocolate candy; using a teaspoon or piping bag, create the spider legs on both sides of the cookie.

  • Melt the white chocolate, use a toothpick to take a bit of chocolate and create the eyes and mouth. Or use sugar eyes. Enjoy!
