To make the hot dog chili, pour a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil in a pot and sauté the chopped onion with the chopped chili pepper.
In a bowl filled halfway with water, add the ground beef and crumble it with your hands. Then pour everything into the pot with the onion. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes.
Then add the spices and the rest of the ingredients and continue cooking over low heat for about 20 minutes. It should have a thick consistency, like a sauce. Adjust the salt at the end.
Take the baguette and use a knife to cut and remove the top part, creating a sort of boat. Also remove the crumb.
Fill the inside of the baguette with shredded cheddar and a few tablespoons of chili. Then place the hot dogs one after the other. Top the hot dogs with chili and finish with shredded cheddar.
Wrap the baguette with aluminum foil and place it on the oven tray. Put it in the preheated oven at 350°F for 25 minutes. Alternatively, cook on the grill or barbecue.
Once ready, remove the foil. Cut it into pieces and serve the baguette with a sprinkle of chopped chives. Enjoy!
