Savory Pie with Broccoli and Bacon

The savory pie with broccoli and bacon is a rich and tasty idea to serve at the table as an appetizer or main course. Easy to make, I filled this savory pie with boiled broccoli, then sautéed in a pan with crispy bacon. Finally, I enriched the filling by adding mozzarella and oregano. In no time, you will make a savory pie that will make your mouth water!

Savory Pie with Broccoli and Bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 roll puff pastry
  • 12 oz boiled broccoli
  • 3 oz bacon
  • 3 oz mozzarella
  • 1 sprig dried oregano
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt

Preparation

  • To make the savory pie with broccoli and bacon, wash and clean the broccoli, then cook them in plenty of boiling water and once ready, drain them.

  • Cut the bacon into cubes or strips, place it in a pan, and let it brown over moderate heat.

  • Add the broccoli and sauté over moderate heat for a few minutes, finally add salt to taste and remove from heat.

  • Cut the mozzarella into cubes and add it to the broccoli and bacon; mix with a spoon to combine.

  • Take a round baking pan and place the puff pastry, keeping the provided parchment paper.

  • Fill the savory pie with the broccoli and season with a sprinkle of oregano.

  • Fold the edges of the pastry inward and bake in the preheated oven at 392°F. Bake for 10/15 minutes, until golden.

  • Serve the savory pie warm and enjoy your meal!
