Ingredients

  • 6 Eggs
  • 150 g All-purpose flour
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 6 tablespoons Hot water
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 packages Strawberries
  • to taste Milk
  • 500 ml Fresh liquid cream

Tools

  • Beater
  • Spatula
  • Springform Pan
  • Bowl

Preparation

  • To make the strawberry and cream dome, separate the yolks from the egg whites and place them in two separate bowls. In one bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form with 50 grams of sugar. In the other bowl, beat the yolks with the water and gradually add the remaining 150 grams of sugar.

  • Add the vanilla extract to the yolks and mix well. Gently fold the egg whites into the yolks, mixing carefully with a motion from bottom to top. Finally, gradually add the flour.

Line a springform pan (diameter 8.66 inches) with parchment paper and pour the mixture, leveling the surface. Bake in the preheated oven at 356°F for about 40 minutes, until golden brown and passing the toothpick test.

Once baked, leave it in the turned-off oven with the door ajar for about 30 minutes. Watch the video to make a perfect sponge cake at home.

  • Cut the sponge cake into two layers, obtaining three pieces that will make assembling the dome easier.

  • Whip the cream, leaving a small bowl of it in the fridge, which will be used to coat the dome. Wash and cut the strawberries into pieces, leaving some aside for decoration.

  • Line a dome mold (diameter 7.87 inches) with cling film, put pieces of sponge cake soaked in milk at the bottom and sides. Then alternate a layer of cream, one of strawberries, and one of sponge cake (always soaked with milk). Finish with the sponge cake. Cover with cling film and place in the fridge for at least a couple of hours.

  • After the resting time, take a serving plate and flip the strawberry and cream dome. Remove the cling film, garnish the dessert with whipped cream, and decorate with strawberries and dollops of cream.

  • You can decorate by adding chocolate shavings.
