The sweet panettone house is great to give as a gift or to prepare for Christmas lunch. This house is well tested, and every year I make several as gifts for friends and family. Very beautiful to look at and good to eat, you can build it together with your children. It is also a different way to enjoy and serve the panettone, and you can also make it without chocolate to keep its natural yellow color. Making this sweet panettone house will require some of your time, but the result will be satisfying and appreciated by the whole family!

Preparation
To make the sweet panettone house, cut the panettone by trimming the sides, shaping it like a house (1 and 2). On two A4 sheets of paper, cut out a rectangle of 6 inches by 3.5 inches, which will be the side of the house; and a pentagon with a 5-inch base, 3.5-inch height, and 5 inches at the central peak, which will be the front of the house. Place these two templates on the sponge cake discs and cut out two rectangles and two fronts (3).
Melt the dark chocolate and cover the templates, the linguas de gato cookies, and the wafer on the sides that will be exposed on the outside (4). Place them on a tray with parchment paper and let them rest until the chocolate hardens.
Prepare the royal icing. In a bowl, pour the egg whites and lemon juice. Begin to whip with the electric beaters. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to whip the icing until the powdered sugar is fully incorporated and a smooth, lump-free glaze is obtained. At this point, you can build the house: attach the sponge cake walls (rectangles and fronts) to the panettone using the icing, which will act as glue. Cover the roof with rows of linguas de gato cookies and decorate the roof’s peak with cylinder biscuits (again using the royal icing as glue).
Decorate the biscuits chosen as doors and windows with royal icing and colored sugars (5). Unleash your creativity! Then attach the doors and windows to the sides of the house and use the wafer as a step.
Whip the whipped cream to stiff peaks and cover the edges of the house and the roof. Then decorate with colored candies. Sprinkle the roof with grated coconut, giving it a snowy effect.
With the fondant, make Christmas figures you like the most; in this case, I made the wreath, which I placed above the door; the snowman and the Christmas tree.
