I call it aloe elixir because it is my ally against seasonal ailments.
It’s a wellness concentrate made of just two ingredients, aloe and honey.
Both rich in beneficial substances.
Honey is a powerful antioxidant, it also helps to fight cough and cold, it is a great ally of the heart as it reduces the risk of stroke and is an excellent anti-inflammatory.
Meanwhile, aloe is a concentrate of vitamins and minerals, improves gut flora, detoxifies and purifies the body, and is anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
So what more could we want? Natural and genuine, it helps boost our immune defenses to face the cold season.
Easy and simple to prepare, the only note is the care in preparing it and using Aloe Arborescens leaves.
In fact, it is important to pick leaves from mature plants, and take those in the center of the plant, neither too old nor too young.
For me, living in the countryside, it’s easy to find and grow. But for those living in the city, I recommend buying one or two pots that also serve as decoration, and growing them.
The taste is slightly bitter, but absolutely palatable, especially because the daily dose is really minimal, a tablespoon twice a day before meals.
It should be taken on an empty stomach twenty minutes before breakfast and dinner or lunch.
To start the day in a healthy way, I recommend pairing the aloe elixir with

Ingredients for preparing aloe elixir for a 9 oz jar
- 10.5 oz aloe gel
- 10.5 oz honey
Tools
- 1 Blender
- 1 Jar
- Aluminum Foil
- 1 Knife
- 1 Bowl
Steps for Preparing Aloe Elixir
To prepare the aloe elixir, start by collecting 6-8 medium leaves from a healthy Aloe Arborescens plant that is a few years old, positioned in the center of the plant. Then, use a knife to cut the leaf from the plant and dab the cut part with absorbent paper to soak up any yellowish liquid, which should not be included in the recipe.
Then, wash them thoroughly under running water and dry them with a cloth. Use a knife to cut the spiny edges and fillet the leaves carefully with the knife, to extract the viscous gel pulp.
This step should be performed in dim light and quickly as possible to prevent it from losing beneficial properties due to light exposure and air contact. Finally, pour into a previously sterilized jar (see here the procedure) and cover the container with aluminum so that no light can enter.
Storage and Dosage
The aloe elixir can be stored in the fridge for up to 15 days.
The recommended dose is one tablespoon twice a day, 20 minutes before meals.
