Chicken rolls are a truly appetizing main course, creamy on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside.
Made with a filling of cheese and speck and breaded in cornmeal, they are simple and quick to prepare, always loved by both adults and children.
A main dish to propose both to family and to relatives and friends, perhaps accompanied with a side of vegetables.
For those who have little time in the kitchen and do not want to give up on taste, these are truly optimal.
With oven cooking, there is no waste of time. While they are cooking, many other tasks can be done in the house, and as we housewives well know, time is never enough.

Ingredients for preparing chicken rolls
- 6 slices chicken steaks
- 6 slices speck
- 9 oz scamorza cheese
- as needed corn flour
- 1 egg
- as needed extra virgin olive oil
- as needed fine salt
Tools
- 2 Plates
- 1 Baking dish
- 1 Cutting board
Steps for preparing chicken rolls
To prepare the delicious chicken rolls, start by slicing the scamorza cheese into not too thin slices and beat the egg with fine salt in a deep dish.
Then on a cutting board lay out one slice of chicken at a time and stuff first with 2 slices of scamorza cheese, and then with a slice of speck.
Then roll up the slice of chicken and bread it first in the beaten egg and then in the cornmeal, and repeat for each slice.
Oil a baking dish and place the rolls side by side on one side. Drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil and bake in a static oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 30-35 minutes until lightly browned. In an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes.
Once the cooking time is up, take them out and serve hot, creamy, and stringy. Enjoy from Barbara!
Advice and Notes
I recommend preparing 2 per person. Chicken rolls can be stored in the fridge for two days and before serving they need to be reheated in the oven at 320°F (160°C) for at least 15 minutes.
