Chicken Strips, Not Greasy and Super Crunchy, in Air Fryer!

Chicken strips in the air fryer are a truly appetizing recipe.

They are a crunchy and tasty alternative to the classic fried nuggets. This preparation enhances the chicken meat with a thick and crunchy breading, without using a lot of oil. The outside is golden and crispy thanks to the cornflakes, while the inside remains tender and juicy.

To obtain tender and tasty strips, it is important to use boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into strips that are not too thin. This cut allows for even and quick cooking, preventing the meat from drying out too much.

Moreover, chicken perfectly retains the breading and enhances its flavor.

Thanks to the air fryer and the use of cornflakes, you get a crispy chicken without frying it in oil, reducing fats without losing taste.

Chicken breaded in an air fryer is loved by both children and adults. It can be served with light sauces like a yogurt and herb cream, or with a side of grilled vegetables or baked potatoes.

Additionally, it’s easy and quick to prepare and can be served as a main course, as finger food for appetizers, or as a filling for a gourmet sandwich with salad and flavored mayonnaise.

Tips and Storage

Use unsweetened cornflakes – Sweetened ones would alter the flavor of the chicken, making it sweet.

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket – The strips should be well spaced to ensure even cooking and perfect crispness. It is better to cook them in multiple batches if necessary.

Spray a little oil before cooking them. A light spray of oil helps to achieve a more uniform browning without weighing down the dish.
