Steps for Chocolate-Stuffed Pears
To prepare the delicious chocolate-stuffed pears, start by choosing medium-sized and firm Abate or Kaiser pears.
Peel the pears with a peeler
Cut them in half
Bring a small pot of just enough water to cover the pears to a boil. Add the juice of one orange, the cinnamon stick, and a tablespoon of honey. Cook for about 15 minutes, or until the pears are cooked but firm. Cooking times depend on the size of the pears.
Once cooked, let them cool and hollow out the core. Score the edge with a knife and then scoop it out with a teaspoon.
Coarsely chop the amaretti and coat the pears on the cut side
Place them on a 20 cm tray lined with parchment paper
generously fill the pears with 70% dark chocolate shavings. Cook in an air fryer at 356°F for 5 minutes, or until the chocolate melts. In a static oven at 356°F for about 10 minutes, until the chocolate melts.
If you like, you can reduce the cooking water until it caramelizes and drizzle it over the pears.
Serve warm to enjoy them at their best, and happy tasting from Barbara!
Storage and Tips
You can store the chocolate-stuffed pears with amaretti crumble at room temperature for 24 hours in an airtight container or wrapped in cling film.
In the fridge for three days. They are excellent both cold and warmed up for a few minutes in an air fryer at 320°F or in a static oven.
