Oven Glazed Fennel: Easy and Light Recipe

in

The oven glazed fennel with balsamic vinegar and honey is a simple but surprising side dish that enhances this wonderful vegetable: baking makes them soft and slightly caramelized, while the sweet and sour glaze enhances their natural sweetness without overpowering their aroma.

It’s a simple and economical recipe because it requires few ingredients, it’s easy to prepare, and brings a tasty dish to the table, suitable for both everyday meals and more refined occasions. Perfect for accompanying meat, fish, or vegetarian dishes.

The oven glazed fennel with honey and balsamic vinegar is light, rich in fiber, and aids digestion. The sweet and sour glaze makes them more appetizing without refined sugars. Perfect for a healthy diet, vegetarian, and for those who want to enjoy vegetables in a tasty way.

Ingredients for Oven Fennel

  • 2 fennel bulbs
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsps balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste fine salt
  • 1 tsp chopped walnuts

Tools

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Baking Tray
  • Parchment Paper
  • 1 Brush
  • 1 Air Fryer

Steps for Preparing Oven Glazed Fennel

To prepare the oven glazed fennel, take a bowl and create an emulsion of extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, and fine salt. Mix with a fork to blend all the ingredients.

Remove the tougher and damaged outer leaves of the fennel, wash them under running water, and cut them first in half and then into thirds; they should be quite thick but not too much.

Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and season them by brushing them with the emulsion. Bake in a static oven at 356°F for about 20-25 minutes, in an air fryer at 356°F for 8-10 minutes until they become soft.

Once cooking is complete, you can optionally add the chopped walnuts and the tender fennel leaves. You can serve them either hot or at room temperature, and enjoy!

Storing Oven Glazed Fennel

Oven glazed fennel can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
I do not recommend freezing them, as the texture will tend to become mushy.
