Steps for How to Freeze Peppers
To freeze peppers, choose fresh, blemish-free, firm peppers.
Wash them thoroughly under running water.
Pat them dry with a paper towel or a cloth and dry them well.
On a cutting board, remove the stem, cut them in half, and with your hands take out the core with all the seeds. Be sure to remove the white veins, which have a more bitter taste and fibrous texture.
Cut them into strips, cubes, or large pieces.
Arrange the pepper pieces well spaced on some paper trays and place them in the freezer for 1-2 hours.
This prevents them from sticking together.
Transfer the pieces into freezer bags and remove the excess air, sealing them tightly, or in airtight freezer containers. Label with the date and the peppers are ready to be frozen.
Storage
Peppers can be stored in the freezer at -0 °F for 10-12 months.
