The leaves are seasoned with a mixture of oil, salt, chili pepper, and chives. Baking allows the leaves to become thin and crispy, creating real kale chips perfect for snacking at any time of the day

- 1.4 oz extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chives
- 1/2 teaspoon dried red chili pepper

Steps to Make Kale Chips

Detach the leaves from the bunch and remove the damaged ones. Score the central stem with a knife and detach the leaf or remove the stem with your hands as shown in the video.
Wash them thoroughly under running water, drain them, and pat them dry with paper towels. Meanwhile, prepare the mixture. In a bowl, pour the extra virgin olive oil, salt, chili pepper, and chives. Whisk with a fork.
Place the leaves on a tray lined with parchment paper and brush with a kitchen brush the leaves with the mixture. Bake at 375°F for 7-8 minutes until lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and serve either hot or cold. In both cases, they are super crispy and very tasty.
Storing Kale Chips
Before storing kale chips, make sure the chips are cool
Put the chips in a glass jar or a container with an airtight closure. Best stored in a cool and dry place, away from moisture and heat
Do not store in the fridge as humidity makes them soft
