Steps for Apple Fritters in Batter
To prepare the delicious apple fritters in batter, start by peeling the apples with a vegetable peeler. Cut them in half, remove the seeds and core, and chop into small cubes. Immerse in plenty of water with the juice of one lemon to prevent oxidation.
In a bowl, break an egg and add the sugar
Beat with a hand whisk until you get a frothy mixture
Add the plant-based milk in a thin stream while continuing to beat, I used oat milk and the flour
the baking powder and cinnamon
Mix until you have a smooth batter without lumps
Add the chopped apples
and mix everything together.
Line an air fryer pan with parchment paper and, with the help of a spoon, form the fritters
Cook in a air fryer at 350°F for 15 minutes or until golden. Once cooked, let cool and dust with plenty of powdered sugar and serve.
And enjoy from Barbara!
Tips and Storage
You can add a pinch of lemon or orange zest to the batter for a fresher aroma.
For a healthier version, replace half the flour with whole wheat or oat flour.
Store the apple fritters in batter in an airtight container for 24 hours at room temperature if it’s not too hot. Otherwise, store them in the fridge for 3 days
Do not cover them while still warm: let them cool completely to avoid condensation and moisture that would make them soggy.
When serving, reheat them for 2 minutes in the air fryer at 320°F
