The meat rolls are not your usual recipe with a filling of cold cuts, but rather with a vegetable that makes them truly unique, tasty, and tender.
An unusual vegetable, one of my favorites, you might be wondering which one, well it’s Swiss chard.
A simple yet very appetizing recipe. Moreover, it can be prepared in advance and then reheated at the moment, without the worry of losing the taste or tenderness of the meat.
Swiss chard is among the most flavorful of the leafy green vegetables and provides many benefits, being rich in vitamins, minerals, they are emollient and refreshing.
I love them seasoned with just butter and Parmesan.
A dish to serve as a main course and much appreciated even by the little ones.
Great to serve with a delicious saffron mashed potatoes.

Steps for preparing the meat rolls not your usual recipe
To prepare the delicious meat rolls, start by thoroughly washing the Swiss chard and cooking them in a pot with plenty of salted water for a few minutes, and chop the onion with a chopper.
Once cooked, drain the Swiss chard and let them cool. Then lay the thinly sliced beef steaks on a cutting board, and fill them with slices of scamorza cheese and one Swiss chard each, then roll them up. If desired, they can be secured with a toothpick.
Now, oil a nonstick pan, heat it, and sauté the chopped onion. Then add the rolls, sage, and cook over medium heat on both sides for a few minutes until golden, then drizzle with two tablespoons of white wine. Cook for another three minutes and season with salt.
Once cooked, plate and serve hot.
Storage and Notes
The meat rolls can be stored in the fridge for two days. Before serving, I recommend heating them, although in the hot season they are excellent served cold.
