The orange marinated smoked salmon may seem simple at first glance: behind such an essential dish lies the perfect balance between the quality of the raw materials and the delicacy of the marinade.
Marinating with orange juice makes smoked salmon soft, fragrant, and delicate, offering a sensation of freshness ideal for refined appetizers or elegant cold dishes. The orange marinade is not for cooking but just to enrich its flavor.
Orange is the perfect match for orange-marinated salmon because:
it balances the natural fatness of the fish, reduces the smokiness saltiness, and adds freshness without overwhelming the taste.
Choosing the right salmon is fundamental for a perfect result.
Choose smoked salmon without artificial aromas with a uniform color, intense pink, with no dull areas. It should have a firm texture, not excessively moist, with a short ingredient list: salmon, salt, natural smoke. Few thin and well-distributed white veins, indicating proper feeding and growth.
