The pear, chocolate, and amaretto puff pastry is the simplified version of the pear and chocolate strudel.
Preparing a pear and chocolate strudel in muffin form is easy and quick, especially with ready-made puff pastry, the result is irresistible!
With a pear and chocolate puff pastry, you can achieve a dessert that’s soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, where the juicy sweetness of the pears blends with the intense taste of the melted dark chocolate and the rich flavor of the amaretti. A flavor combination that breaks boundaries!
It’s one of the pear desserts most loved by my family. I prepare it in a few minutes and get a bakery-style result.
The chocolate and pear puff pastry offers the perfect contrast between the juicy filling and the flakiness of the pastry, making the pear and chocolate puff pastry ideal for breakfasts, snacks, or impromptu desserts.

Steps for Pear and Chocolate Puff Pastry
To prepare the pear and chocolate muffin, choose Abate pears as they hold their shape during cooking.
Remove the stem and wash them thoroughly under running water.
Peel the pears with a peeler making sure to remove all the skin without wasting too much fruit. Cut the pears into small cubes (about 0.4 inches) or thin slices to allow the filling to cook evenly.
Spread the puff pastry on a round baking pan and place the chopped pears on top.
Sprinkle with coarsely crumbled amaretti, leaving small pieces for added crunch, not a fine powder.
Add the dark chocolate, cutting it into small pieces or flakes. Too large pieces may not melt evenly in the oven.
Fold the edges of the puff pastry inward.
Bake in a static oven at 350°F for about 30-35 minutes or until golden.
Bake the pear and chocolate puff pastry in air fryer mode for 28 minutes at 350°F, placing the pan on the lower rack if you have an oven air fryer with a door. For a basket air fryer, reduce the quantities and cook at 350°F for about 18 minutes or until golden.
Storage
If you want to consume it within a few hours, you can keep it covered at room temperature or in an airtight container.
Avoid humidity: if the dessert remains uncovered, the puff pastry can soften quickly.
In the fridge
Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Before serving, you can reheat it in the oven at 320°F for 5-7 minutes or in an air fryer at 320°F for 3-4 minutes to restore the puff pastry’s crispness and the filling’s softness.
