Ingredients for the puff pastry roses

  • 1 rectangular puff pastry
  • 4 slices speck
  • 2 zucchini
  • 0.28 oz stretched curd cheese

Tools

  • 1 Mandoline
  • 1 Mold

Steps for the puff pastry roses

To prepare the delicious puff pastry roses, remove the ends of the zucchini and wash them under running water. Slice them into rounds with a mandoline

  • Roll out the rectangular puff pastry and divide it into 6 equal parts lengthwise. On each pastry, place the zucchini slightly overlapping each other, letting them hang over halfway so that once rolled, they form a rose

  • Cut the speck slices in half and cover the zucchini,

  • add the slices of stretched curd cheese

  • Fold the opposite edge of the puff pastry inside, and roll until it forms the roses

  • Place them in muffin molds and bake in a static oven at 356°F for about 20 minutes or in an air fryer at 338°F for about 12-15 minutes.

  • After cooking, let them rest for a few minutes and serve hot to enjoy them melty and crunchy.

Storage

If served the same day, you can leave the puff pastry roses at room temperature for a maximum of 2-3 hours.
In the refrigerator
Once cooled, place them in an airtight container or wrap them in plastic wrap.
They can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
To enjoy them as freshly made, heat them in the oven or air fryer at 320-338°F for 3-5 minutes before serving; the cheese will become melty again without drying the pastry.

You can freeze them raw: rolled and placed on a tray, then covered and frozen individually.

Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag.

Cook them directly from the freezer, adding a few more minutes to the cooking time.
