Sangria is an alcoholic beverage of Spanish origin made with wine, fruit, spices, and sugar. Very well-known and appreciated worldwide.
For someone like me who never drinks alcohol, summer isn’t complete without sangria! The only alcoholic drink I consume because, besides enjoying it, it truly puts me into the summer mood—parties, beach, music, festivals, friends. Its color and spiced flavor take me to a happy place.
My version isn’t very alcoholic, as I used only red wine, but for those who want it stronger, at the end of the recipe, I’ll suggest what you can add.
Sangria is served as an aperitif, but on warm summer nights, any moment is a good time to enjoy it. Served cold with lots of ice, it’s like diving into the sea.

Steps for Preparing Sangria
To prepare the delicious sangria, start by washing all the fruit well.
Next, grab a cutting board and a knife, cut the peaches in half and remove the pit, then do the same for the apples and pears by removing the seeds. Then, slice them into round slices, then strips, and finally into cubes, as shown in the image, and place them in a large bowl or a carafe and set aside. Meanwhile, using a citrus juicer, juice one lemon and one orange, and add to the fruit pieces.
Then, slice half of the remaining oranges and lemons into slices, and the other half into cubes, as shown in the image, and combine with the apples, pears, and peaches.
At this point, add the sparkling lambrusco to the fruit, along with the cinnamon stick and sugar, and mix well. Then, place the cloves in a strainer so they can easily be removed later, and immerse them. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest for 12-24 hours in the fridge. For those who want it stronger, you can add 50 g of cognac.
After the resting time, remove the cinnamon stick and cloves, serve with plenty of ice and a few mint leaves, and… enjoy!
