Steps for Preparing Savory Puff Pastries Simple Recipe
To prepare the delicious savory puff pastries, we begin by grating the smoked scamorza cheese with a grater
Then we roll out the puff pastry on the parchment paper and fold it into 3 along the longer side, to form folds. Then roll it out again and cut it into three.
This way, we obtain three rectangles. On one half, lay a slice of folded cooked ham and the smoked scamorza cheese, while on the other half create cuts with a knife or with a wheel , as in the photo.
Then close the two ends and seal the edges well by pressing with the tines of a fork, so that they don’t open during baking, and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Meanwhile, in a coffee cup, break the egg yolk, add a pinch of salt, and beat it with a fork until you get a homogeneous mixture.
Then with a brush, brush the surface of the pastries and sprinkle with black sesame seeds. Bake for about 30 minutes at 356°F (180°C) until golden brown.
After baking, remove from the oven and serve warm and … enjoy!
Storage and Notes
The savory puff pastries can be stored in the fridge for two days, and before serving, I recommend reheating at 320°F (160°C) in the oven for about 5 minutes.
