Tomato crackers are delightful finger foods, also known as appetizers, made with puff pastry and prepared in an easy and quick way, suitable as an accompaniment to aperitifs.
Excellent both cold and warm, in summer and winter.
With crackers, organizing an aperitif at home with friends or relatives is very simple and always very appreciated.
As we say, little expense, great yield. Ideal to serve even before an important lunch while waiting for it to be ready.
With crackers, we make both adults and children happy. In fact, at my children’s birthday parties, they are never missing and are the first to disappear.

Steps for preparing tomato crackers
To prepare delicious tomato crackers, start by washing the tomatoes carefully under running water, dry them, and cut them first in half and then into slices not too thin and not too large. Remember that they have to fit in the center of the puff pastry squares we are going to prepare.
Then fold the puff pastry to a thickness of 2 inches and create squares of 2×2 inches, cutting them with a knife or a serrated wheel directly on their parchment paper.
Next, line a baking tray with more parchment paper and place the squares neatly and well-spaced apart by at least 0.5 inches as they will rise during cooking. Then, use a finger to make a small indentation in the center of each square and place a slice of tomato seasoned with salt, oregano, and a cube of cooked ham on top.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 minutes, until golden brown, remove from the oven, and drizzle with a splash of extra virgin olive oil. Serve either warm or cold and… enjoy your tasting! Cooking crackers in air fryer at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes
