For a perfect preparation WATCH THE VIDEO RECIPE
Start by washing the zucchinis under running water. Trim them with a knife and cut them into slices on a cutting board about half an inch thick
Chop half an onion
Grease a non-stick pan d. 28 and sauté the onion for a minute and add the zucchinis.
Cook for 8-10 minutes, turning them so they brown on both sides.
Roll out the round puff pastry on a springform pan lined with parchment paper.
Stuff with slices of smoked provola on the sides and in the center with 2 fairly thick slices of pizza mozzarella to make it even more stringy. You can also choose another type of cheese to your liking.
Make a layer of cooked ham and finish with the zucchinis distributing them evenly.
Sprinkle with abundant grated parmesan and roll the edges of the puff pastry inward.
In a cup, beat the egg yolk and with a brush, brush the edges and decorate them with black sesame seeds, which will give an extra crunch and color.
Bake at 356 degrees for about 30-35 minutes, until golden.
Tips and Storage
Do not put the zucchinis raw as they would release too much water in the oven cooking.
Use fresh and firm zucchinis.
The zucchini, cooked ham, and cheese pie can be stored in the fridge wrapped in plastic wrap for two to three days. Before consuming, I recommend reheating it in the oven at 320 degrees for 5-8 minutes
It can be frozen.
