Marshal’s Pasta

Marshal’s pasta is a tasty and creamy first course suitable to prepare when you have little time 🙂

A legend says it was invented by a restaurateur to satisfy a hungry marshal who arrived late in the evening at his restaurant.

Today I came home late and therefore had little time to stand at the stove, and then it was hot, so I wanted a quick yet equally inviting first course 😉

I already knew what to cook for the second course: ‘carne all’uccelletto,’ but I didn’t know what to cook for the first course.

Since I had bacon, cream, tomato sauce, here’s the right recipe: easy to prepare with few ingredients.

I had never prepared it, I had read it while flipping through a cookbook, I got curious and decided to prepare it 😀

Even when you have unexpected guests, this is the solution: a quick first course to savor.

I used sweet bacon, but if you prefer smoked bacon, that’s fine too.

I didn’t use oil due to the presence of the bacon.

Ingredients for Marshal’s Pasta

  • 11 oz penne rigate
  • 14 oz tomato sauce
  • 3.5 oz fresh liquid cream
  • 3 oz sweet bacon (diced)
  • 1 onion
  • to taste salt

Steps for Marshal’s Pasta

  • In a pan, brown the bacon with the thinly sliced onion for 2-3 minutes.

    Pour the tomato sauce and cook for about 15 minutes. Add the fresh cream.

    Meanwhile, bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta, keeping it al dente.

    Pour the pasta into the pan, and once all the ingredients are combined, salt, turn off, and serve hot.
