Pasta with sausage and cherry tomatoes is a quick first course, suitable for any time of the year 🙂
This morning I went to the butcher to buy some meat to prepare for today’s lunch and while looking at the display, I was drawn to the chicken sausage.
Maybe because I had never noticed it before, so I bought it to try it out 😉
Chicken sausage contains less fat than pork sausage and has a delicate flavor.
As soon as I got home, I dedicated myself to preparing lunch.
As a second course, I already knew what to cook: fennel meatloaf, while for the first course I wanted to try chicken sausage with pasta.
I had some bow-tie pasta, cherry tomatoes, and light Philadelphia cheese.
These are all ingredients I used to prepare a creamy first course to die for.
Pasta with sausage and cherry tomatoes is a complete first course if you make generous portions, and those who prefer can also deglaze with white wine.

Ingredients for Pasta with Sausage and Cherry Tomatoes
- 11.29 oz Whole Wheat Farfalle
- 2 chicken sausages
- 3.53 oz cherry tomatoes
- 6.17 oz light spreadable cheese
- 1 onion
- 1 drizzle extra virgin olive oil
- to taste salt

- 1 Pan
- 1 Ladle
- 1 Wooden Spoon
- 1 Knife
Steps for Pasta with Sausage and Cherry Tomatoes
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add the pasta, and set it aside with a little cooking water.
In a pan, heat a drizzle of oil and let the chopped onion sauté.
Remove the casing from the sausages, add them in pieces to the pan, and let them brown.
Add the chopped cherry tomatoes and continue cooking, stirring for a few minutes.
Add the spreadable cheese, continuing to stir until the ingredients are combined.
Add the pasta, if needed a little cooking water, and salt to taste.
After a few seconds, turn off the heat and serve immediately.
