  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs (or instant potato flakes)
  • 2.1 oz Grana Padano PDO (grated)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • as needed chopped parsley (minced)

Preparation of the Baked Christmas Broccoli Ring

  • Start by putting a pot with water and salt on the stove and bring it to a boil.

    Wash the broccoli thoroughly in water and remove the leaves, which, remember, you shouldn’t throw away because you can use them for pasta or vegetable broth.

  • Detach the florets. As soon as the water boils, immerse the vegetables and cook them for just 6 minutes, then drain them immediately and cool them in plenty of cold water to keep their bright color.

  • Once they are lukewarm, take the ring mold and arrange them upside down.

  • Now in a bowl beat the eggs, incorporate Grana Padano, minced garlic and parsley, and the 2 tablespoons of instant potato flakes, adjust salt and pepper according to your taste.

    Mix the whole mixture well.

  • Pour the mixture gently over the broccoli

  • Bake in a ventilated oven at 356°F for 20 minutes.

  • After the time has passed, wait for it to cool slightly, and carefully place a plate on the ring mold and flip it over.

  • Serve it on the table, you can serve it warm or at room temperature.
