The Salmon and Spinach Puff Pastry Braid
- 1 Pan
- 1 Baking Sheet
- 1 Parchment Paper
- 1 Immersion Blender
- 1 Bowl
Steps
To prepare
The first thing to do is take the puff pastry roll out at least 30 minutes before use, so it doesn’t ruin when we open it.
Thaw the spinach, sauté them in a pan with butter.
Then squeeze them and put them in a glass bowl, add eggs, Parmesan cheese, cream cheese or alternatively well-drained ricotta. Salt, pepper,
and blend everything.
Now spread out the puff pastry sheet.
Spread the mixture. Without reaching the edges of the pastry.
Lay the salmon slices over the spinach mixture
A sprinkle of Parmesan and
start rolling from one of the wider bases.
Help yourself with the rest of the base and the same wrapping paper.
To close the roll well, seal even the ends by gently pressing with your fingers, on the right and left.
Now, make a cut with the scissors starting from the closures, continue to cut the roll into 2 parts.
Here’s how it should appear with the filling inside.
Now start braiding by overlapping one part, then the other
until you can form a braid that we will then close like a crown.
In a baking tray with parchment paper underneath, gently place the salmon and spinach puff pastry braid, place cherry tomatoes on top for decoration,
give it an egg wash and
a sprinkle of sesame, if you don’t like sesame, you can also use poppy seeds.
Now it’s ready to go in the oven, which must be preheated to 356°F static and should bake for about 30 or 40 minutes, but this depends from oven to oven, so check when you see that the pastry is colored, take out the tray and let the Salmon and Spinach Puff Pastry Braid cool before transferring it to the serving plate.
And here is our appetizer ready
Storage and Tips
The Salmon and Spinach Puff Pastry Braid can be stored for up to 2 days outside the fridge. You can also freeze it and take it out at least 1 hour before, then heat it in the oven.
To give a different shape to the same product instead of braiding it, as soon as you have made the unwrapped roll, cut it into slices and place each slice on the baking sheet in a flower-like arrangement.
