BLENDED TART WITH THE PEELS OF SQUEEZED ORANGES COOKED IN AIR FRYER

Blended tart with the peels of squeezed oranges cooked in air fryer, a unique and irresistible taste, its aroma will fill the entire kitchen. This tart was created by chance. Someone gifted me beautiful untreated oranges, and I used some to make a nice juice and the classic orange juice cake, and I didn’t want to throw away the peels so this tart was born. I’ve made many desserts with oranges like the famous yogurt and orange cake in five minutes all in a bowl, or the delicious creamy orange cake, all fantastic, but this tart has a unique taste that captivates you from the start.

To make this shortcrust pastry is very simple, just blend all the ingredients and then spread the dough into the pan and bake it in the air fryer or the oven. The air fryer cooking is giving me great satisfaction, I’ve prepared several recipes both sweet and savory like the fried pastries in air fryer or the eggplant parmesan in the air fryer. For the filling, I chose blueberries and orange marmalade and to finish, a delicious crumble that I previously used for the apple cake with crunchy crumble

Remember, the next time you have orange or lemon peels, don’t throw them away because you can use them to make so many recipes like tarts, cakes, and cookies, and everyone will fall in love with their citrus flavor. Let’s see what we need to make the blended tart with the peels of squeezed oranges cooked in air fryer

Ingredients

Blended tart with the peels of squeezed oranges cooked in air fryer, a unique and special taste you never tire of eating

  • 2 peels (of squeezed oranges with all the pulp)
  • Half peel (of squeezed lemon)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup walnut flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder for desserts
  • 1 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter (cold)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • blueberries (fresh as needed)
  • orange marmalade (as needed)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Tools

WE WILL NEED..

  • 1 Air Fryer

You can use either the air fryer with the drawer or the air fryer with the door as I used.

Steps

LET’S PREPARE THE TART

  • Put the citrus peels in a blender or a mixer, you can also use the Thermomix and blend them well. Add all the other ingredients and blend. The mixture should be somewhat soft, almost sticky but not liquid, and if it is too liquid, add more flour. This depends on the size of the citrus peels. If it turns out too dry, add some orange juice. Let the dough rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. In the meantime, prepare the crumble following this recipe

Grease and flour a tart pan that fits in your air fryer. Roll out the dough, helping yourself by wetting your hands if it’s too sticky. If the dough is too much for your pan, set aside the excess; you can make delicious cookies with it. Spread a little marmalade on top and add the fresh blueberries, then cover with the coarsely crumbled crumble. Cook in the air fryer at 390°F for about 20 minutes, but adjust to your air fryer; mine has a dessert program, or in the oven at 350°F for about 35 minutes. Remove the tart from the oven and dust with powdered sugar.
