Glazed orange cake, a very soft cake, very simple to prepare, and great to enjoy at any time of day. I’ve already made a dessert with this fantastic batter but with lemon, you can find the recipe here but this time, instead of apples, I added almonds which I think go great with oranges. To make this cake, use only the peel and juice of the orange, unlike my fantastic orange cake where you use the entire fruit – peel, juice, and pulp – but I assure you this version is a real treat. I recommend trying it, and I’m sure it will win you over from the first bite. Let’s see how to make and what we need for the glazed orange cake.

Ingredients
VERY SOFT AND QUICK CREAMY ORANGE CAKE
- 4 oz sugar
- 2.7 tbsp sunflower oil
- 0.5 oz orange juice
- 1 tsp baking powder
- grated zest of 1 orange
- 1 large egg
- 6 oz sour cream
- 6 oz all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3.5 oz crushed almonds
- powdered sugar (as needed)
- orange juice (as needed)
Steps
LET’S PREPARE THE GLAZED ORANGE CAKE
Pour the sour cream into a bowl with the sugar and mix with an electric mixer. Add the egg, orange juice, grated zest, oil, and finally the flour with the baking powder and baking soda, then add the crushed almonds
Now pour the mixture into a 9.5-inch pan. Bake at 350°F for about 15/20 minutes but no longer, adjust according to the oven. Prepare the glaze.
In a bowl, mix the powdered sugar and add the orange juice a little at a time, mixing well. You should achieve a consistency that is not too thick and not too thin.
Once the cake is baked, cover it with the glaze and let it cool.
