  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 packet instant yeast for savory preparations
  • 2 teaspoons bitter almond flavor
  • 1 grated orange peel
  • cup chocolate chips

  • 5 1/4 oz dark chocolate

LET’S PREPARE THE EASTER CAKE

  • Separate the egg yolks from the whites and whip the whites until stiff peaks form. In another bowl, whip the yolks with the sugar until they are nice and fluffy. Start adding the grated peel, the oil slowly, the milk, the almond flavor, the yeast, and finally, the flour a little at a time. At this point, add the cold chocolate chips from the refrigerator and the candied fruits, then the egg whites, mixing gently from bottom to top. Pour everything into a 2 lbs panettone mold and bake at 356 degrees Fahrenheit for about 35 minutes, but check with your oven and do the toothpick test; it should come out dry. Once baked, remove from the oven and pour the chocolate melted in a double boiler over it and sprinkle with granulated sugar before enjoying.
