Tart with butter shortcrust pastry and nuts, a crumbly and creamy dessert made special with the addition of nuts and honey.
During this holiday season, I prepare many sweets from traditional and much-loved butter cookies, the Christmas bundt cake, the scenic cream puff Christmas tree and many others that I will gather for you all together. Of course, my beloved tart cannot be missing, but this time a bit in a Christmas guise.
To make the tart, I used the fantastic butter shortcrust pastry that I usually use to make cookies but have already used to make the Christmas tart with butter and chocolate shortcrust. This time, I enriched the shortcrust with fantastic mixed nuts, but you can use whatever you like and honey, but the real gem of this delight is the layer of orange marmalade that gives a unique flavor.
If you want to prepare a special tart for the holidays but especially want to get ahead, this is the ideal solution, so get the ingredients, roll up your sleeves, and prepare this delight.
Let’s see what we need to make the tart with butter shortcrust pastry and nuts.

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- flavoring (I use lemon or orange zest or vanilla)
- 1 1/3 cups butter (soft)
- nuts (mixed as needed)
- orange marmalade
- 3/4 tbsp honey
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Steps
LET’S PREPARE THE TART
To make the butter shortcrust, you can use a Thermomix, a mixer, or do it by hand. I used the Thermomix.
THERMOMIX PROCEDURE:
Put the flavoring with the sugar in the bowl for 15 seconds at speed 10.
Add the other ingredients for 30 seconds at speed 5.
Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes
WITHOUT THERMOMIX PROCEDURE
Pour the flour into a mound, make a hole in the center, add the eggs with the sugar and flavoring, and finally the very soft butter. Knead and let it rest.
After resting, roll out the dough into a buttered and floured tart pan, remove the excess dough, spread a layer of marmalade on the bottom. In a bowl, pour the nuts and add the honey, mix well and then pour everything onto the tart. With the remaining dough, make the classic strips. Bake at 356°F for about 35 minutes, but adjust according to your oven, or you can bake it in an air fryer at 392°F for 20 minutes, but adjust according to your fryer. Remove from oven and dust with powdered sugar
