Lasagna Pinwheels or Roses

in

Hello friends, today I propose these wonderful lasagna pinwheels or roses to prepare for any special occasion. During the Christmas holidays, they are ideal to impress your guests. This recipe is very simple; I decided to fill them with a trio of cold cuts, but you can use any filling you like. I prefer homemade béchamel sauce, but you can also use the ready-made one if you want. The recipe is below.

  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Portions: For 4-6 people
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients for Lasagna Pinwheels or Roses

  • 2 cups homemade béchamel sauce
  • 9 oz fresh pasta (lasagna)
  • 3.5 oz cooked ham
  • 3.5 oz salami
  • 3.5 oz mortadella
  • 5 mozzarella fior di latte
  • to taste grated parmesan cheese
  • Butter flakes

Tools

  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Baking dish
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Knife

Steps for Lasagna Pinwheels or Roses

  • To make these delicious lasagna pinwheels or roses, you first need to prepare the béchamel sauce in advance. Once it’s ready, thin it out with a little milk or water to make it creamier. In the meantime, blanch the fresh lasagna sheets for a few seconds in salted hot water, then drain them and lay them on a kitchen towel. On a cutting board, lay the first sheet and spread a spoonful of béchamel sauce over the surface, fill with cooked ham, cubed mozzarella, and grated parmesan cheese. Roll tightly from the longer side of the sheet and cut into 3-4 parts with a knife. Place them in a baking dish previously ‘smeared’ with a few spoonfuls of béchamel and arrange the pinwheels with the cut side up. Continue with the rest of the pasta sheets. Fill with the remaining cold cuts you have available. Complete the baking dish with the other lasagna roses and pour plenty of béchamel sauce and grated parmesan cheese over the surface. Finally, place some butter flakes on top and bake in a preheated static oven at 392°F for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • I hope you like my latest recipe, see you next time, friends.

STORAGE, TIPS AND NOTES

The lasagna pinwheels or roses can also be prepared in advance and kept in the fridge before baking. Once cooked, they can also be frozen or kept in the fridge for a day. Just reheat them in the microwave before serving.
