Hello friends, today I present these wonderful savory puff pastry bows to make as an appetizer and impress your guests. They are made in a few simple steps and can be filled with any ingredient of your choice. This time I opted to make them using salami and scamorza cheese. Below you will find the recipe..
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Inexpensive
- Portions: 12 bows
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients for Savory Puff Pastry Bows
- 1 Rectangular sheet of puff pastry
- 5.3 oz salami
- 3.5 oz scamorza cheese
- as needed Pitted green olives
Tools
- 1 Pastry wheel
- 1 Knife
Steps for Savory Puff Pastry Bows
To make these eye-catching savory bows, unroll the puff pastry and cut it with a pastry wheel to get 12 rectangles. If you want to make them larger, simply create 6 rectangles. Score each rectangle along the corners so you can lift the edges later. Place a slice of scamorza cheese in the center of each rectangle followed by salami. Close the bows by crossing the ends of the pastry that we previously scored and press to seal them. Place half of a pitted green olive in the center of each bow. Arrange them all on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated fan oven at 356°F for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Arrange the savory bows on a serving plate and serve. I hope you like my latest recipe, see you next time friends.
STORAGE, TIPS AND NOTES
The savory puff pastry bows can also be made in advance: just prepare them before and keep them in the fridge, then cook them when you are ready to serve. Or cook them first and enjoy them cold. You can use any cold cuts and cheeses of your choice or even vegetables for the filling. In place of olives, you can also put walnut halves in the center of each bow.
