Steps for the Savory Zucchini and Tuna Pie

  • To make this amazing savory pie, first preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the milk and sunflower oil using a hand whisk for a few minutes, then add the grated cheese and continue to mix thoroughly. Finally, add the sifted flour, instant yeast for savory pies, salt, ground pepper, and mix for a few more minutes. Pour the chopped parsley into the batter, the zucchini previously washed and diced small, and mix thoroughly with the help of a spatula. Lastly, add the previously drained tuna and mix again.

  • Butter and flour a 10×10 inch square baking pan or a 10-inch round pan and pour the batter. Bake in a preheated static oven for about 35-40 minutes or until golden at 350°F. Perform the toothpick test, remove from the oven, and let cool.

  • And here it is, ready to be enjoyed. I hope you like my latest recipe, see you next time friends.

STORAGE, TIPS, AND NOTES

If you do not like tuna, you can replace it with any cold cut of your choice. The only important tip I can give you is to cut the zucchini into small cubes to avoid cooking issues so that they are perfectly cooked. This rustic pie can also be enriched with cheese like fontina, emmental, or mozzarella. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, as long as it is wrapped in plastic wrap. It is great to enjoy cold, but you can also heat it in the microwave for a few minutes.
