Ingredients for Stuffed Pan-Fried Flatbreads
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup Greek yogurt (Or 2/3 cup water or milk)
- 2 tsp instant yeast for savory preparations
- 1/2 tsp fine salt
- 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
- 5.3 oz diced smoked bacon (Or cooked ham, mortadella, salami, or speck)
- 1 package sliced cheese (Or scamorza, mozzarella, or any other cheese)
Tools
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Rolling Pin
- 1 Pan
Steps for Stuffed Pan-Fried Flatbreads
To make these delicious stuffed flatbreads, first take the Greek yogurt out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. Knead all the ingredients together in a bowl to obtain a smooth and homogeneous dough. You can use a food processor or knead everything by hand. Once the dough is ready, let it rest for 10 minutes. Then divide the dough into about 6-8 portions (depending on the size you want) and form balls. Roll out each portion with a rolling pin to a thin thickness, fill with diced bacon and sliced cheese (today I had these ingredients at home) or you can use any other filling you prefer. Close the flatbreads by lifting the edges of the dough and pinching them in the center. Do the same for all the sides to obtain a well-sealed bundle. Pass over with a rolling pin to slightly flatten.
Lightly oil a pan and remove the excess with a paper towel, heat the pan well and place the flatbreads, cooking them covered on both sides, it will take 8-10 minutes per side on medium-low heat. When the flatbreads are ready, place them in a basket lined with a kitchen towel and keep them warm.
Serve and enjoy them. I recommend waiting a few minutes. Here they are, the stuffed pan-fried flatbreads. I hope you like this latest recipe of mine, see you next time friends.
STORAGE, TIPS AND NOTES
The stuffed pan-fried flatbreads should preferably be consumed on the same day, at most stored in the fridge and when ready to eat just heat them in the pan or microwave for a few minutes. You can fill them with mixed cold cuts and cheeses or with grilled vegetables.
