Hello to all cooking and Thermomix enthusiasts! Today I want to share my special recipe for orange marmalade with zest and apple, made with the help of our trusty Thermomix.
The uniqueness of this marmalade lies in the use of apple, which, thanks to its natural pectin content, helps thicken the marmalade in a delicious and natural way. The result is a marmalade with an intense flavor and perfect consistency, ideal for spreading on toast, tarts, or pairing with cheese.
The process is simple and quick, just the way I like it when cooking with the Thermomix. First, we need to get fresh, fragrant oranges, a lemon, and a quality apple. The orange peels will give that bitter touch that will perfectly contrast with the sweetness of the apple and sugar.
Once we have the ingredients, the Thermomix will take care of the rest. After peeling the oranges and cutting them into pieces along with the apple, we’ll put them in our trusty kitchen robot. We will add the sugar and let the Thermomix work its magic, cooking and stirring the ingredients until the desired consistency is achieved.
The aroma that will spread in the kitchen will be simply irresistible, and you’ll be eager to taste your creation. Once ready, you can store the marmalade in sterilized glass jars, ready to be gifted or enjoyed at any time.
This orange marmalade with zest and apple is truly a burst of flavors and aromas, and I’m sure it will quickly become one of your favorite recipes to make with the Thermomix. I can’t wait to hear your comments and experiences with this delicious marmalade. Bon appétit and happy cooking with your Thermomix!

How to prepare the Orange Marmalade with the Thermomix
To prepare the marmalade, start by peeling the oranges and lemon with a peeler. We need to retain about 2 ounces of zest without the white part, otherwise the marmalade would be bitter. Then, cut the apple into 4 parts, leaving the peel on but removing the seeds.
Once the ingredients are prepared, place the zest and sugar in the Thermomix bowl and run the turbo for 30 seconds. Then add the fruit and blend everything for 5 seconds at speed 7.
After blending, cook the mixture for 45 minutes at 212 degrees Fahrenheit. To avoid hot splashes during cooking, you can put the varoma and also the empty jars upside down on the varoma lid to sterilize them.
At the end of cooking, you will get a grainy marmalade. To check the cooking, you can do the plate test: put a spoonful of marmalade on the plate and check if it slides slowly. If you want a smoother texture, you can do another round of turbo for 30 seconds.
Once the desired consistency is achieved, pour the marmalade into the jars, close them tightly using only new lids, and boil them for 10 minutes to ensure sterilization.
Here’s your wonderful marmalade ready!
If we prefer to follow a traditional method:
Start by peeling the oranges and lemon with a peeler, making sure to retain only the zest without the white part. Then, cut the apple into quarters, keeping the peel but removing the seeds.
Once the ingredients are prepared, place the zest and sugar in a pot and cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add the fruit and continue cooking for an additional 45-60 minutes, stirring frequently.
Once the desired consistency is achieved, you can check the cooking by doing the plate test: put a spoonful of marmalade on the plate and check if it slides slowly. If you want a smoother texture, you can use an immersion blender to make the marmalade more homogeneous.
Finally, pour the marmalade into sterilized jars, close them tightly with new lids, and boil them in a pot of water for 10 minutes to ensure sterilization. Here is our delicious marmalade made the traditional way!
