Donut with Fresh, Dried Fruit, and Jam

A donut that contains everything that gives us energy in the morning, fresh fruit, dried fruit, and jam. Many donuts are prepared and of all kinds, I believe it is the most classic and traditional sweet that accompanies our breakfast over the years. The most common donuts are surely with apples and lemon, the variations are endless, but the basic ingredients are always eggs, flour, sugar, milk, and butter, and then you give space to your tastes…In this recipe, I wanted to include a “rich” breakfast and the different ways to make it, that is, those who like jam spread on rusks, those who have breakfast with fresh fruit, or those who eat dried fruit rich in vitamins maybe inside a yogurt, so I thought…and if I put everything inside a dessert that everyone loves, adults and children? well, the result was excellent. All that remains is for you to try it!!!

  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 30 Minutes
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups cake flour
  • 6 tbsps tbsps potato starch
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 7/8 cup room temperature milk
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 3/4 cup almonds
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup apricot jam
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 apple

Tools

10-inch Bundt pan.

  • Electric Whisks

Steps

First, prepare all the ingredients. Combine and sift all the dry ingredients, flour, potato starch, and baking powder. Take the apple, clean it, and cut it into not very large cubes. Roughly chop the almonds.

Now prepare the donut.

  • In a container, put the eggs and sugar, activate the whisks, and beat until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. Then add the room temperature milk and melted butter. Mix a little.

  • Now pour the flours into the batter, make sure it is well absorbed by beating with the whisks, first at low speed, otherwise all the flour will fly.

  • When the flour is absorbed, add the almonds, apple, jam, cinnamon, and vanilla. Stir with a spatula to combine everything.

  • Butter and flour the baking pan, pour the mixture, moving it to make it as homogeneous as possible. Bake in a preheated fan oven at 350°F for 30 minutes.

  • Your fresh and dried fruit and jam donut is ready!!

Notes

When baking the donut, place a sheet of aluminum or parchment paper on the surface to prevent it from drying out and the apple from taking on too much color.

Storage

You can store the donut for 2 days at room temperature covered with plastic wrap or under a cake dome.

Variation

For those who wish, they could replace, for example, the apple with the pear, the almonds with walnuts, or the apricot jam with orange jam.
