Fried meatballs have always been an irresistible dish that everyone loves, the classic Sunday main course at grandma’s house. They’re great any way they’re prepared, but this is a very tasty variation, crispy outside and soft inside. In this recipe the fried meatballs stuffed with caciocavallo have a gooey and flavorful center, a delightful surprise for those who eat them, and to make the breading even more flavorful, I used a coarser breadcrumb, which you can find in supermarkets. So, all that’s left is to try and taste!!

- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 1.76 lbs mixed ground meat
- 1 egg
- 2.82 oz caciocavallo
- 1.76 oz grated parmesan cheese
- 1.41 tsp salt
- pepper
- as needed breadcrumbs
- frying oil
Tools
- Frying pans
Steps
In a container, put the meat and add all the ingredients, mix well. Then cut the caciocavallo into small pieces.
Take some meat to make the meatballs; in my case, I made them 50 g each, but you can choose the size you prefer. Form a ball and press in the center with two fingers, insert some pieces of caciocavallo, and close by bringing the edges together.
Seal well by rolling the meatball in the palms of your hands.
Prepare the containers with the breadcrumbs flakes (or the classic finer type),
begin to coat a few meatballs at a time.
Ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well on all sides.
Once all the meatballs are coated, let them rest in the fridge for about 20 minutes
Put the oil in a pan, heat it to 356°F, and submerge the meatballs, cooking for about 5 minutes, turning them once they start to brown on one side. Do not remove them too quickly, or the cheese inside won’t melt properly.
Drain them and place them in a container with paper towels. Your fried meatballs stuffed with caciocavallo are ready!!
Storage
It is preferable to consume the fried meatballs immediately, but you can store them at room temperature until the next day by reheating them for 4 minutes in an air fryer or in a traditional oven.
