Fried Zucchini Flowers

Fantastic fried zucchini flowers super crispy and delicious with a delicate flavor, perfect as an appetizer. If you haven’t tried them yet, you absolutely must. The preparation is very simple with just flour and sparkling water and they’re ready in a few minutes, I think it’s the simplest and best way to enjoy them. For the batter, there are several variations, for example, some make it with water, flour, and yeast, or water, flour, and egg yolk, or flour and beer, so everyone can choose what they like best … The ideal months to enjoy this vegetable are from May to July. At this point, you just have to try!!

  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 15Pieces
  • Cooking methods: Frying
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 15 zucchini flowers
  • 10.5 oz Frying flour or all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups sparkling water
  • salt
  • oil for frying

Tools

  • Frying pan

Steps

  • Gently wash the zucchini flowers under water, then remove the pistil inside, being careful not to break them.

  • Prepare the batter with flour, water, and salt; the quantities may vary depending on the flour, but it should not be too liquid because it needs to stick to the vegetable.

  • Now proceed to frying. Put the oil in the pan and heat it to 340°F, dip the zucchini flowers in the batter and drop them into the oil.

  • Let them brown first on one side, then turn them, it will take about a minute for each side, but judge for yourself.

  • Drain them and your zucchini flowers are ready!! WOW

Storage

Like all fried foods, zucchini flowers should be enjoyed freshly made, but if there are any leftovers, you can store them at room temperature until the next day. In this case, I recommend reheating them for a few minutes in the oven or air fryer, they will be like freshly made.
