The landed almonds are typical Apulian sweets usually prepared during the Christmas period, but they can be enjoyed anytime you want, and they are super easy to make. Why they are called landed is unknown, perhaps it reminds of the color of the earth because of the chocolate…For this recipe, you really need two ingredients, almonds and dark chocolate, you just need to toast the almonds and pour them into the melted chocolate, and then you can enjoy this sweet with this fantastic combination. As far as I’m concerned, you don’t need precise doses of ingredients, you just need to have more or less the same amount of both almonds and chocolate and make sure to cover them well with chocolate, you decide the amount you want. It’s one of the simplest recipes ever! Below, I will explain only the few steps to prepare them and other ideas for very simple sweets.

  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Affordable
  • Rest time: 1 Hour
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Cooking methods: No Cooking
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • almonds
  • dark chocolate

Tools

  • Cupcake Liners

Steps

  • First, toast the almonds for a few minutes in the oven or in a pan like I did.

  • Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie or in the microwave. If you use the microwave, be careful not to overcook the chocolate, so I recommend stopping the time every 20 seconds, stirring it a bit, and repeating this step until it is completely melted.

  • As soon as the chocolate is melted, pour in the toasted almonds.

  • Mix them well to cover all the almonds with chocolate.

  • Place the cupcake liners next to each other and with a teaspoon take some almonds with the chocolate and fill them. Fill the liners before the chocolate cools.

  • Once you have finished, let the sweets solidify at room temperature for about 1 hour, (this will depend on the internal temperature), or you can cool them faster in the fridge.

Storage

Landed almonds can be stored in a closed container at room temperature or in the fridge for several days.
