Pasta with cream and ham…who hasn’t made it at least once! One of the simplest first courses ever, but also very tasty. It’s one of those dishes that solves a quick lunch and makes kids happy too. In fact, I prepared this recipe with the pasta shape my little one wanted… and it turned out a mix of penne and farfalle!! No special explanations are needed for this recipe and neither are hard-to-find ingredients… just cream, cooked ham, parmesan, and for those who’ve never tried it, I recommend a grating of lemon zest, it will make it more special and fragrant. Sometimes we search for special dishes, but a bit of simplicity is also needed….!! Here’s the recipe
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 4
- Cooking methods: Stovetop
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 14 oz pasta
- 7 oz diced cooked ham
- 1 cup fresh liquid cream
- grated parmesan to taste
- olive oil
- salt
- grated lemon zest (optional)
Steps
First, bring some water to a boil that will be used to cook the pasta.
Prepare the sauce, put a drizzle of olive oil in a pan, heat it up and add the diced ham. Sauté for 2 minutes and then add the cream, mix everything and let it go for 1 minute. Turn off the heat and meanwhile cook the pasta adding salt to the water.
Drain the pasta al dente, setting aside a bit of the cooking water. Pour it into the sauce, add the parmesan and a grating of lemon zest, (if you like) mix well and if needed add a ladle of the reserved water to make the pasta creamier. Plate it up and enjoy it hot.
Storage
Pasta with cream and ham should be served and enjoyed freshly made.
