  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 10.5 oz pasta (small size, I use mini tubes)
  • 8.8 oz frozen peas
  • 4.2 oz cooked ham (diced)
  • 1.06 oz onion
  • 4.2 cups vegetable broth (or water)
  • 1.8 oz Parmesan cheese
  • to taste olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Steps

  • Pasta with Frozen Peas and Ham
  • To make your Pasta with Frozen Peas and Ham, you’ll only need one pot using the risotto method. This method is faster and leaves you with fewer dishes to clean. It also makes everything more flavorful, as the pasta absorbs the taste of the ingredients cooking together.

First, finely chop the onion, which will be used to create the cooking base. Let it sauté for a few seconds.

At this point, add the still-frozen peas, season with salt and pepper, and cover the peas with vegetable broth or hot water. Let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.

  • After 10 minutes, take a few spoonfuls of peas and blend them. This step will make everything even creamier and tastier.

Now add the pasta, add more broth if necessary, and continue cooking for about another 10 minutes, until the pasta is cooked.

  • Before turning off the heat, add the diced ham and, with the heat off, the Parmesan cheese. Taste and adjust salt and pepper as needed.
Serve the pasta with frozen peas and ham hot and steaming.

Variations

For a bolder flavor, you can replace the ham with speck or sautéed sausage.

For a vegetarian dish, simply omit the ham.
