  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Rest time: 30 Minutes
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 2/3 cup almonds
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tbsps honey
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 vegetable oil (optional, for extra crunchiness)

Steps

  • For the granola preparation, first, preheat the oven to 392°F in static mode.

In a large bowl, mash a well-ripened banana into a puree, add the rolled oats and almonds, I used some whole and some chopped, mix well. Pour the warm honey over the oat and almond mix, also add the raisins, mixing carefully so that every ingredient is well coated.

  • Transfer the mixture onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper, spreading it in an even and compact layer no more than 0.4 inches high. Bake for about 20–25 minutes. It’s important to check often in the last few minutes to avoid the granola getting too dark or burning: it should take on a nice golden color and a toasted aroma.

  • Once out of the oven, let the granola cool completely on the tray: it will become crunchy as it cools. When it’s cold, if you want you can also add some chocolate to taste, stir to distribute it evenly. Store the granola in an airtight glass jar; it will stay crisp for about two to three weeks.
