Ingredients for Chicken Breast with Bechamel
- 14.1 oz chicken breast (sliced)
- 1 3/4 cups bechamel (recipe link)
- to taste salt
Tools for Chicken Breast with Bechamel
- 1 Casserole casserole
- 1 Microwave Pan crisp plate
Steps for Chicken Breast with Bechamel
Let’s start by preparing the bechamel (find my easy and butter-free recipe here)
Take the chicken breast slices and lightly pound them to make them thinner.
Now cook them in a pan or on a grill, without oil, until well cooked. Season with salt at the end of cooking.
Place the cooked chicken breast slices in a microwave-safe dish. Pour the bechamel over all the slices, covering them well.
Cook in the microwave at 650w for about 6 minutes, or in crisp mode for the same time.
Alternatively, bake in the oven at 340°F for 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
Tips and Variations
For the bechamel, you can easily use lactose-free milk or a plant-based drink, preferably unsweetened. Instead of bechamel, you can also use cooking cream.
This recipe is perfect for white meats; besides chicken, you can also try turkey, pork, or veal.
FAQ
Can I store chicken with bechamel in the fridge? For how long?
Absolutely yes! Once cooled, store it in an airtight container or cover it well with plastic wrap. It keeps perfectly in the fridge for 2-3 days. When reheating, do it gently (maybe in the oven or on the stove at low heat) so the bechamel stays creamy and doesn’t dry out.
Can you freeze chicken with bechamel?
You can freeze it without worries, I promise! The important thing is to let it cool completely before placing it in the freezer, well sealed in a suitable container or wrapped in foil. When defrosting, do it slowly in the fridge and then warm it up in the oven at low temperature. The bechamel might slightly change texture, but just stir it a bit or add a splash of milk to fix it. No disasters in sight! 😊
