- to taste salt
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- to taste chili powder
Tools to Make Kale Chips
- 1 Microwave Oven Microwave Oven
Steps
Let’s start by cleaning the kale leaves. For each leaf, pull upwards to remove the central stem and keep only the leafy part. Wash and dry well.
In a bowl, place the leaves and season with oil, salt, and chili powder. Mix gently with a spoon.
On the microwave crisp plate (or a baking tray), spread the leaves so they do not overlap.
Cook in the microwave with crisp function for 5 minutes
Or in a convection oven at 350°F for 7 minutes
Storage and Tips
Kale leaves are naturally on the bitter side, so after cooking, you can season them with a pinch of salt to soften the flavor.
Each oven has its own timings, so be very careful with cooking as they might burn.
I advise against freezing them, but due to their quick preparation, it’s best to make them fresh.
