To make an oven-baked pasta different from the usual ones, I recommend the recipe for baked tagliatelle nests with ground meat sauce. It’s convenient because the portions are already divided; two or three nests per person, two for women and three for men who usually eat a bit more.
Moreover, you can always allow yourself a second helping. 🙂
I use a larger baking pan that can hold half a kilogram of tagliatelle and make more to reheat and eat in the evening.
Someone told me that pasta is even better when you reheat it for the evening.
This is a recipe taught to me by a cousin: very simple but tasty to try.
- Difficulty: Medium
- Cost: Medium
- Preparation time: 1 Hour
- Portions: 6
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 9 oz ground meat (veal)
- 2.2 lbs tomato puree
- 3 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
- 1 onion
- 1 1/2 cup wine
- to taste salt
- spices (basil, parsley, bay leaf)
- 9 oz mozzarella
- to taste Grana Padano DOP (grated)
- 7 oz cooked ham
- 1 1/2 lbs tagliatelle
Tools
- Pot
- Baking Pan
Preparation
A pasta shape I recommend because it holds up well to cooking, see HERE
First, sauté the thinly sliced onion in the oil. Then add the ground meat. Pour the wine after a few minutes and when it evaporates, add the tomato puree, herbs, salt, and cook for half an hour.
On the bottom of a baking pan (diameter 12 inches), pour two ladles of sauce and arrange the tagliatelle nests.
In each nest, add the sliced and diced cooked ham in the center.
Place abundant sauce over the tagliatelle until covered and cook for about twenty minutes. Remove the baking pan from the oven, finally adding grated Grana and cubed mozzarella on top and return to the oven until melted.
Check occasionally and if necessary, add a little water (preferably at the sides of the baking pan to avoid diluting the sauce.) The water can be heated in the pot where the sauce was cooked to gather what’s left.
The oven should be preheated and set to 482 degrees Fahrenheit. This baked tagliatelle nests recipe with ground meat sauce is nourishing and tasty.
Tagliatelle Nests with Ground Veal Sauce
This first course of baked tagliatelle nests is easy to prepare and also convenient to serve because the nests will remain intact.
Certainly a useful idea to vary every now and then.
