Flavored Puff Pastry Breadsticks

The flavored puff pastry breadsticks are an idea for the appetizer I recently baked, very simple to prepare.
With ready-to-use puff pastry, you can always improvise a tasty appetizer to surprise your guests.
They can also be added to the buffet table for parties along with other savory snacks.
Just have a little cold cut at home (I prefer mortadella :)) and herbs to make the flavored puff pastry breadsticks.

Flavored Puff Pastry Breadsticks
  • Cost: Medium
  • Preparation time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 4
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 9.3 oz puff pastry (Rolled out ready to use)
  • 3.5 oz mortadella (One thick slice)
  • eggs (1)
  • to taste chives

Tools

  • Brush kitchen
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking dish

Preparation

  • Brush the beaten egg over a rectangle of puff pastry placed on the work surface.

  • Chop the mortadella in the food processor and spread it evenly over the puff pastry.

  • Flavor generously with chives, it won’t hurt. 🙂 Cover with the other rectangle of puff pastry.

  • Cut strips three/four centimeters long and wide to form the breadsticks.

  • Roll the strips into a fusilli shape gently to prevent the mortadella from coming out.

  • Place the breadsticks on the baking dish covered with parchment paper, spaced apart, and brush each breadstick with the beaten egg.

  • Finally, bake in the oven set at 482°F for about fifteen minutes.

  • Enjoy the breadsticks as an appetizer and also for dinner. They are very good warm or cold.

Flavored Puff Pastry Breadsticks

The flavored puff pastry breadsticks recipe has some slight difficulty, but it’s just a matter of skill and happens the first few times.

It just takes a little patience when rolling, but the result is satisfying and you just need to get the hang of it.

If you want, you can also use other favorite herbs like oregano or rosemary for this “Flavored Puff Pastry Breadsticks” recipe.

If you prefer them shorter, just cut them with scissors directly on the baking dish or baking tin and separate them to prevent sticking during baking.
