- 4 Lemons (Unwaxed)
- 4 cups Sparkling water
- 6 teaspoons Sugar
- 1 pinch Baking soda
Tools
- Potato peeler
- Small pot
Preparation
Wash the lemons and dry them with a kitchen towel. Use a potato peeler to peel two lemons and set the thin peels aside.
Juice the four lemons using a citrus juicer. Then, strain the extracted juice and place it into a small pot.
Add the peels of the peeled lemons and the sugar to the small pot. Then, place it over the flame and use a spoon to dissolve the sugar well. Let it cool in the fridge for about ten minutes.
In a pitcher, combine the lemon syrup and a pinch of baking soda with the sparkling water and mix. Finally, serve the homemade sparkling lemonsoda cold with a lemon zest.
Homemade Sparkling Lemonsoda
I recommend drinking the homemade sparkling lemonsoda at room temperature; sipping it calmly allows you to appreciate even more the sparkling lemonsoda that will surprise you with its taste and aroma. With the dose of eight teaspoons of sugar and one lemon per person, the drink is just right (not too sweet); if you prefer it sweeter, add another teaspoon. Serve the “Lemonsoda” cold and garnish with lemon peels. If you want, you can keep the pitcher in the fridge for half an hour before serving, but be careful not to overdo it with cold drinks in summer, which can cause health issues. You can dilute it with more water if it seems too tangy and lemony to your palate.
